Kindness Week

13th Feb 2026

The Student Council organised a very successful Kindness Week! The boys and girls in our class discussed what kindness looks like in our everyday lives and the 5th Class students drew some posters to show this. Kindness badges were created representing kindness and the class made a chain to demonstrate how kindness creates connection in our world. The class had no homework as part of a whole school approach to kindness week, and 5th and 6th Class petitioned for no homework on Wednesday as well. After a competitive debate among the 6th Class boys and girls, teacher was convinced that the students might actually benefit from no homework on Wednesday either! However, the students were asked to focus on acts of kindness at home and they said they were helping their parents with different jobs around the house which is great to hear!!

The class got inspiration from Keith Haring themed pop art this week focusing on positive messages and the power of love in our world. A fitting theme for St. Valentine's weekend too of course!

Our Student Council representatives secretly chose a person each day who demonstrated kindness so on Friday we had four deserving students announced for their actions. Teacher also chose a person who shows kindness for our whole-school assembly. Well done to every boy and girl for their ongoing kindness!!
