March Music
8th Mar 2026
5th and 6th Class have been learning about different notes and music theory over the past few months. The students enjoyed a really fun lesson focusing on 'Hip Hop' music from our Dabbledoo programme. This lesson incorporated some of the rhythmic learning the students have been doing over the past while, which revealed their knowledge of the different types of notes. The students loved being asked to create a short rap piece in groups and some of the boys and girls showed great confidence and skill in their abilities to rap, rhyme and hold a beat!
In Irish, the boys and girls learned 'Tír na nÓg' focusing on the myth of Oisín and Niamh. With Seachtain na Gaeilge soon approaching, the class have voted to perform a song together of their choice (as Gaeilge), so preparations have begun! The class will also learn an Irish dance for the whole-school céilí and a few more Irish songs are in the pipeline!
