Pancake Tuesday was a real treat in our classroom today! 🥞
The pupils learned about the tradition of Shrove Tuesday and how it marks the beginning of Lent. We chatted about why pancakes were traditionally made on this day and how families used up ingredients like flour, eggs and milk before Lent begins.
We have also just begun our new athletics initiative, Move to Improve, and the energy and enthusiasm shown already has been fantastic. The pupils have thrown themselves into every activity with such positivity and effort. After a great start to the programme, we certainly felt we had earned a little treat!
There was great excitement as we enjoyed our pancakes together. It was lovely to see such smiles around the room and to celebrate both tradition and teamwork.
A simple tradition, but a lovely way to recognise our hard work and make special memories together.
